Olaitan Ojerinde Assassination: Suspected killers Arrested – Police

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Abubakar, on Wednesday, announced that the police had arrested the people who, on May 5, killed Mr Olaitan Ojerinde, the Private Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.

Addressing journalists shortly after meeting with policemen at the Zone 5 headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Benin City, the Edo State capital, Abubakar said, “I want to announce that we have arrested four persons who  killed the PA to the governor. And that is a credit to the police.”
The IGP, who did not give further details regarding the arrest, took exception to the deadline of 14 days — within which to find the killers of Ojerinde and bring them to book — given to the police by Governor Oshiomhole.
According to Abubakar, “You can’t just give the police 24 hours to do a miracle. We have to investigate and look at all the facts of the matter before we can come to a conclusion.”
