The National Universities Commission has suspended the operational licences of seven private universities for allegedly violating its guidelines in physical facilities and academic programmes and non-compliance with the regulations guiding the operations as set up by the NUC.
The licences of the following universities were suspended; Lead City, Joseph Ayo Babalola, Tansian, Madonna, Caritas, Achievers and Obong.
The Director of Press and Public Relations of NUC, Mallam Ibrahim Yakassai, confirmed this in a telephone interview with newsmen correspondents on Wednesday night.
